Ripple has launched Ripple Mint, a new institutional platform built to make it easier for eligible firms to mint, redeem, bridge, and manage RLUSD, its regulated stablecoin. The move marks a clear push by Ripple to widen RLUSD adoption among exchanges, market makers, fintechs, and other enterprise users.

What Ripple Mint does

Ripple Mint gives institutions two ways to work with RLUSD: through a browser-based interface or through programmatic APIs. That matters because some firms want direct operational control, while others need automation and tighter integration with internal treasury or payments systems. The platform includes features such as minting and redemption, balance tracking, webhook notifications, transaction status visibility, and cross-chain transfer support. Ripple says this setup is designed to reduce friction for firms that already handle stablecoin flows and want a more efficient way to manage digital dollar liquidity.

Why this launch matters

Ripple’s launch of Mint comes at a time when RLUSD is being positioned as a serious regulated stablecoin for institutional use. According to recent coverage, RLUSD’s market capitalization has climbed to about $1.6 billion, showing that the token is gaining traction beyond its early rollout phase. The timing also lines up with Ripple’s broader expansion of RLUSD across more networks. Recent reports say support has extended beyond the XRP Ledger and Ethereum to the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Base, Optimism, Ink, and Unichain.

RLUSD growth

RLUSD has grown into one of the fastest-moving regulated stablecoins in Ripple’s ecosystem since its broader launch in late 2024. Recent data cited in coverage shows that the XRP Ledger’s share of RLUSD supply recently overtook Ethereum’s, suggesting stronger on-chain activity within Ripple’s own network. One report said XRPL held about $810 million of RLUSD supply, or 51.7%, while Ethereum held about $756 million, or 48.3%. That shift is notable because it shows how quickly RLUSD usage patterns can change as liquidity and infrastructure mature.

Institutional angle

Ripple Mint is aimed squarely at institutional workflows rather than retail users. The platform is intended for exchanges, payment firms, and market makers that need a regulated stablecoin stack with settlement visibility, automation, and flexible access methods. Ripple also says existing RLUSD customers can use Ripple Mint immediately. That suggests the company is moving quickly to convert its stablecoin infrastructure into a more complete institutional product rather than treating RLUSD as a standalone token.
