Global investment giant VanEck has teamed up with Securitize, the leading real-world asset (RWA) tokenization platform, to launch the VanEck Treasury Fund (VBILL) on BNB Chain alongside Avalanche, Ethereum, and Solana. This initiative is set to redefine how institutional investors access U.S. Treasury-backed assets, unlocking the speed, transparency, and programmability of blockchain for one of the world’s most trusted asset classes.

VBILL

The VBILL fund is purpose-built for institutional and qualified investors, offering fully collateralized, blockchain-based exposure to U.S. Treasury bills. With a minimum subscription of $100,000 on BNB Chain, Avalanche, and Solana (and $1 million on Ethereum), VBILL brings a new level of accessibility and efficiency to cash management and reserve allocation for large-scale investors.

Shares of VBILL are issued and recorded directly on-chain, providing real-time settlement and 24/7 liquidity features that far outpace traditional finance systems. This means investors can move in and out of positions with unprecedented speed, all while benefiting from the robust security and transparency inherent to blockchain technology.

Why BNB Chain?

BNB Chain’s inclusion in this multi-chain launch is a testament to its growing prominence in the blockchain ecosystem. With cross-chain interoperability enabled by Wormhole, VBILL investors can seamlessly transfer tokens across supported networks, maximizing flexibility and capital efficiency.

A Collaboration for the Future

Securitize, already a powerhouse in asset tokenization with over $3.9 billion in assets tokenized and a recent $47 million funding round led by BlackRock, provides the full-stack infrastructure for VBILL. This includes tokenization, fund administration, transfer agency, and broker-dealer services-ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence at every step.

Carlos Domingo, Co-Founder and CEO of Securitize, emphasized the significance of the partnership:

“This collaboration merges the best of Securitize’s fully integrated tokenization model with VanEck’s deep expertise in asset management. With VBILL, our combined efforts demonstrate tokenization’s ability to create new market opportunities with the speed, transparency, and programmability of blockchain technology.”

Kyle DaCruz, Director of Digital Assets Product at VanEck, added:

“By bringing U.S. Treasuries on-chain, we are providing investors with a secure, transparent, and liquid tool for cash management, further integrating digital assets into mainstream financial markets. Tokenized funds like VBILL are enhancing market liquidity and efficiency, underscoring our commitment to providing value to our investors.”

RWA Tokenization

The launch of VBILL places VanEck alongside financial titans like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton, who have also entered the RWA tokenization space. Tokenized U.S. Treasuries now represent a market capitalization of nearly $7 billion, making them the second-largest asset class in the tokenized funds sector, just behind private credit.

The benefits of RWA tokenization are clear:

1. Faster settlement times and 24/7 liquidity

2. Greater transparency and real-time reporting

3. Programmability for advanced financial products and compliance

4. Broader access for institutional investors seeking blockchain-native solutions

What’s Next?

As regulatory clarity increases and mainstream adoption accelerates, the tokenization of real-world assets is poised for explosive growth. With VBILL, VanEck and Securitize have laid a foundation for the future of on-chain finance-one where traditional assets and blockchain technology converge to deliver unprecedented value and opportunity.
